An Ominous Start
I woke up this morning to find a murder of crows outside of my window. Maybe 20 large black birds were perched in the trees outside of my apartment at window level. They were silent, so when I opened my curtains I really was taken aback. Fortunately I had Ella the vicious beast (ha) to keep me safe by meowing at them through the closed window.
