Medusa’s Head by Chris Burden, 1990.  Collection MOMA.
I saw Medusa’s Head when it was shown at the Gagosian Gallery in the winter of 1993.    The dark and twisted detail of this apocalyptic and ambitious sculpture presented a bleak vision of man’s destructive effects on the world. It made a big impression on me at the time.  Would love to see it again one day.
