Health, peace, and happiness
I can offer nothing more than an intention for health, peace, and happiness for mankind after learning of another mass shooting in this country. Our government will do nothing, so all I can do is state my intention for nonviolence.
Ignorance and the anger that arises from it is epidemic in this world, and as this anger festers it turns to violence, and then this violence compounds on itself as mass attention is drawn to it.
We live in a massive security state where no one is secure from disgruntled individuals with automatic weapons. We erect massive authoritarian government departments to protect us from foreign ideas and aggression, but we refuse as a society to give people the security of income, health, and mental well-being to keep people from within our borders from becoming desperate, angry, and potentially violent. Providing support and care for all would not prevent all violence, but I guarantee it would lesson the pressure cooker of systemic reasons leading to desperation, isolation, hopelessness, and anger.
