The lake shore is my church
As I stare past the water to the horizon line my mind becomes quiet and I begin to notice the details of everything around me.  I begin to think about the things that are important to me, where I am, where I have come from, and where I would like to go as I watch gulls dive for fish near the surface and spot distant boats gliding across the surface.  Eventually even those thoughts stop as I just...

Something I will always love
Driving along Lakeshore Drive with the windows down, blasting fresh beats and belting along with the words will never get old.  Never.  It is my preferred way to end a work day, especially on a Friday.  I was serving up Gossip today, and it felt so right. Also, trees are finally budding green!

Art Chicago
I need to explore the Merchandise Mart sometime this weekend.  I’m not cool enough for parties, I just want to see the art.  Anyone else interested in going with me tomorrow afternoon or Sunday afternoon?

The Gay Rights Movement In Illinois: A History →
After watching the fantastic Stonewall Uprising last night, I busted out some of my Chicago history and gay history books and decided to hit the web to find out more about Illinois being the only state to have decriminalized sodomy in the U.S. in 1969.  I am linking a nice summary of gay rights in Illinois put together by CBS Chicago back in December.  The whole thing is worth a read. In 1961,...
